Messy Art + STEM
In this engaging one-hour class, students will embark on a sensory journey that blends art, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through a process-based approach. Guided by our enthusiastic art and education teachers, children will explore various materials and techniques, igniting their creativity while enhancing their sensory experiences.
The session begins with a warm welcome and a brief introduction to the day's sensory theme. Children will then dive into hands-on activities that encourage exploration and experimentation, all under the careful supervision of our trained staff. Projects will range from building sculptures to designing and building cities from recycled materials to exploring magnetic fields.
As they create, our teachers will foster conversations about what they feel, see, and hear, encouraging observation and critical thinking. The class is intentionally designed to focus on the process of creating rather than the final product, ensuring that each child can develop their unique artistic voice and skills.
Our activities, which include experiments, are designed to make connections to basic scientific concepts and problem-solving. By the end of the hour, your children will leave with a deeper understanding of their senses, improved sensory perception, and a strong sense of accomplishment gained through playful exploration, all of which are crucial for their cognitive and emotional development.
This class is led by one of our experienced art and education teachers who specializes in sensory education for children.
We will get messy in this class, please have you and your child dressed in attire you don’t mind getting messy!
