Play 2 Progress Sensory Discovery Internship (Introductory) - Unpaid
Play 2 Progress offers a Sensory Discovery Internship (Introductory) designed to provide an immersive introduction to Sensory Integration using the P2P method, which combines classes, Occupational Therapy (OT), and other innovative P2P programs. This unpaid, hands-on internship is ideal for individuals seeking foundational experience in pediatric therapy and early childhood education within a dynamic, play-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with OT session preparation and clean-up
* Work alongside Occupational Therapists, supporting group activities and learning routines
* Observe OT sessions to gain exposure to the P2P approach
* Participate in play-based activities with children, fostering engagement and learning
* Learn about clinic operations and the various roles within a pediatric therapy clinic and assisting with operational activities.
Learning Objectives:
* Develop a basic understanding of Sensory Integration and its practical applications through direct observation and participation
* Gain insight into the daily operations of a pediatric therapy clinic and the interprofessional collaboration among staff
* Build skills in engaging and interacting with young children in both structured and unstructured settings
Requirements:
* Commit to an 12-16 week internship period
* Be comfortable observing and participating in play with children
* Demonstrate reliability, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn through hands-on experience
* Availability during clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Limited Saturday availability (Studio City: 8am–2pm)

Play 2 Progress Therapeutic Program Assistant Internship (Advanced) - Paid
Play 2 Progress offers a Therapeutic Program Assistant Internship for individuals seeking advanced, hands-on experience with Sensory Integration and the P2P method. Unlike the introductory introductory internship, Therapeutic Program Assistant interns are paid and work directly with our therapeutic groups and OT summer camps as assistants. This role is ideal for students and post-graduates looking to gain meaningful experience for OT graduate program applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist Occupational Therapists in the planning and execution of projects, games, and activities for children participating in summer camps and therapeutic groups
* Provide 1:1 support for children who need additional assistance during groups and camps
* Contribute ideas for programming and activities, helping shape the camp and group experience
* Take a lead role in prepping materials and managing hands-on engagement with children
* Support a collaborative, play-based environment that fosters learning and growth
Learning & Professional Development:
* Receive direct mentorship from OTs, who will teach you about the P2P method and core concepts of Sensory Integration
* Gain practical experience working with children in a therapeutic setting
* Develop skills in individualized support, group facilitation, and activity execution
Requirements:
* Paid position with a structured schedule during summer camp and/or school year group program hours
* Commitment to active participation, reliability, and a passion for working with children
* Ideal for students or recent graduates preparing for OT graduate programs
* Comfortable engaging in hands-on, play-based activities
* Commit to a long term internship period a minimum of 3-4 month in length.
